Who invented shampoo and conditioner, and when was it first sold in stores?

Okay so I'm a little weird and the other day I drove across the state line on a whim. I was too tired to drive home so I got hotel room for the night and they didn't have any shampoo or conditioner, and neither did I. So I ended up using a bar of soap to wash my hair and it made me wonder when shampoo and conditioner were invented and first used. Bonus point if you know who invented them.Who invented shampoo and conditioner, and when was it first sold in stores?
Shampoo - The term and service was introduced in Britain by a Bengali entrepreneur Sake Dean Mahomed in 1814, when Dean, together with his Irish wife, opened a shampooing bath known as 'Mahomed's Indian Vapour Baths' in Brighton, England. His baths were like Turkish baths where clients received an Indian treatment of champi (shampooing) or therapeutic massage. His service was appreciated; he received the high accolade of being appointed 鈥楽hampooing Surgeon鈥?to both George IV and William IV.

In the 1900s, the meaning of the word shifted from the sense of massage to the that of applying soap to the hair. Earlier, regular soap had been used for washing hair[4]. However, the dull film soap left on the hair made it uncomfortable, irritating, and unhealthy looking.

During the early stages of shampoo, English hair stylists boiled shaved soap in water and added herbs to give the hair shine and fragrance. Kasey Hebert was the first known maker of shampoo, and the origin is currently attributed to him.

Modern hair conditioner was created at the turn of the century, when well-known perfumer Ed. Pinaud presented a product he called brilliantine at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris. His product was intended to soften men's hair, including beards and mustaches.

Not really necessary to know inventor of everything used! Be more careful in carrying your favourite brands next time to avoid using soap of hotel!
I entered ';who invented shampoo'; and got lots of hits. See this link for your answer:

conditioner was made in 1980 by a man called Sir Darren Emilford.

Shampoo goes back many years ago to ancient Indian tribes.

No specific date is given for it's invention.

The word shampoo in English usage dates back to 1762, with the meaning ';to massage';. The word was a loan from Anglo-Indian shampoo, in turn from Hindi champo , imperative of champna, ';to press, knead the muscles, massage';.

The term and service was introduced by a Sake Dean Mahomed, who opened a shampooing bath known as Mahomed's Indian Vapour Baths in Brighton in 1759. His baths were like Turkish baths where clients received an Indian treatment of champi (shampooing) or therapeutic massage. His service was appreciated; he received the high accolade of being appointed 鈥楽hampooing Surgeon鈥?to both George IV and William IV.

During the early stages of shampoo, English hair stylists boiled shaved soap in water and added herbs to give the hair shine and fragrance. Kasey Hebert was the first known maker of shampoo, and the origin is currently attributed to him. He sold his first shampoo, ';Shaempoo'; in the streets of his home, London, England.

Originally, soap and shampoo were very similar products; both contain surfactants, a type of detergent. Modern shampoo as it is known today was first introduced in the 1930s with Drene, the first synthetic (non-soap) shampoo.

From ancient times to this day, Indians have been using different formulations of shampoos using herbs like neem, shikakai or soapnut, henna, bael, brahmi , fenugreek, buttermilk, amla, aloe, and almond in combination with some aromatic components like sandalwood, jasmine, turmeric, rose, and musk.
